Cultivating Effective Employee Interaction Against the Backdrop of the Coronavirus

There’s one pervasive headline any industry, and especially the events industry, can’t afford to ignore right now - the Coronavirus. In the last week, many large-scale events have been postponed, cancelled or re-imagined as a virtual experience, and events that have pushed forward have lost major sponsors and attendance.

The Coronavirus has ushered in a flurry of operational challenges. The health and safety of employees is a non-negotiable for companies, and as such, they must pivot plans or outline policies that protect staff. It’s sensible, expected even, to take the precautions many companies already have - announcing travel plans, rescheduling in-person meetings and relying on virtual and videoconferencing technology to keep momentum. But while we may be in a time that demands physical and geographically restraint, we can’t ignore that relationships are the lifeblood of business, and success is derived from the networking, collaboration and team building that happens across staff, partners and vendors. After all, there is still a human workforce that needs to be nurtured.

Implications of Social Hardware

At Proxfinity, we thrive on bringing people together. People may associate this with in-person events, where our CUE smart badge signals similarities between people to foster conversation. But at our core, we’ve built a technology platform that helps companies better understand their employees and use those insights to shape their culture and strategic approach - and we can continue to do so in this evolving environment.

Zooming out from the CUE, our smart badge is only half of the equation. Arguably the engine of the Proxfinity ecosystem, is our back-end analytics platform. This works in tandem with the CUE to aggregate and analyze the data, so companies can identify patterns with how an audience interacts. But our data platform can also operate independently. Whether the company has already stockpiled information they’d like to sync with our system or issue a survey to its employees to isolate new data, they can use Proxfinity to dig into the results and find trends to influence team building exercises, diversity and inclusion policies, training and more.

How Do We Tackle What Comes Next?

The Coronavirus is carving out a new working environment, one that is putting strain on in-person interaction - but we can’t allow it to hamper interaction all together. At Proxfinity, we’re committed to helping people build meaningful connections and optimize those connections for greater business value.

Stay tuned to our blog channel for posts in the coming weeks addressing how we can continue to empower workforces in this new environment, such as:

  • How we can still get people interacting better - whether in the office, or virtually

  • How companies can leverage data they already have for greater relationship building

  • How we can manage human workforces long-term in this changing environment

Change can be scary, but it can also be exciting as we’re inspired to think differently and innovate beyond the confines of what we know.

At Proxfinity, we’re driven by a need to make human interaction simply better no matter the format - now, and in whatever comes in the future.
